8.28.25 - YOU’RE TURNING VIOLET, VIOLET

Dear pencil users, cassette recordists, and rotary dialers,

I put in some more shed time in the cool evening air, listening to the Steve Diggle and the Ed Kuepper/Mark Arm episodes of the The Vinyl Guide.  Four corner verticals and horizontal connectors to frame it are up.  Wall panels are next. After that I made a decent 15-minute dinner with convection-roasted broccolini, thai noodles, peanut satay, and chili crunch.  Chili crunch is new to me, and I am all in.  We watched Episode 4 of season 1 of Peaky Blinders.  A good show.

I am grateful to Matt, Zig, Tom, and Ed for subscribing to my sonic journal, aka Demo Of The Month Club.  August is almost over and the September song is about due.  I hit 48 months last month, that’s a lot of musical compost to work with.  The Squids have learned 8.33% of these tunes--our process is slow.  The stuff I put out every month is a necessary release, or I would turn into Violet Beauregard from Willy Wonka, an enormous blueberry that needs to be rolled to the juicing room by oompah loompahs.

My postcard game has fallen off, I need to re-boot with a new design and get a roll of stamps.  If you think of postcards in terms of marketing expense, it makes no sense, but for me it’s more like walking or meditation.  And if you write one a day you know someone somewhere is probably getting one that day
