9.2.25 - PEN MANEUVERS
Tuesday 9.2.25
KCMO
Dear Hostess Zombies, Little Debbie Destroyers and Dolly Madison Maniax,
The Tuesday after a 3-day weekend is supposed to be Monday-esque. But I say nay, let’s roll through that stop sign and take an on-ramp to enjoyment, with a warped but playable tape called F*ck It on the cassette deck.
Yesterday we went to OP to check out the Pan-Asia Supermarket. I got some spicy chickpea and peanut snacks on the Indian food aisle, thinking they would be kind of healthy maybe. But the chickpea element was tiny fried chickpea flour balls, like crunchy orange micro-Cheetos. Delicious but can’t be good for you. I did not read the label. The packaging was irresistible. We got a bunch of fun stuff--noodles and baked tofu and produce and asian snack mix.
OK, this ink cartridge is really pooping out today after yesterday’s cautionary message. I have more on order.
I met a local DJ named Scott when we played with Ha Ha Tonka at Lemonade Park--he played a couple of Squids numbers on his show Moonlight Mile on KKFI. He has since transitioned to an AM slot and re-named the show Let The Day Begin. His playlists are always dyno-mite.
I’m halfway through Henry Rollins’ Stay Fanatic!! Volume II, lots of notes taken. One artist I really like is Molly Nilsson.
Have I mentioned I ordered the Husker Du Miracle Year box set? Yes I believe I did mention that.
This pilot G-2 is a step down, but serviceable.
It’s like the pre-mixed martinis my dad used to take on vacation--slumming it.
