9.6.25 - FRIDAY NIGHT OUT

Dear Tab Tipplers, Bubble-Up Brats, and Fresca Freakos,

Saturday 9.6.25

KCMO

Saturday AM. I slept in a bit after going to see Cher UK, Utilitarians, and White Line Nightmares at miniBAR. I missed WLN, dang it.

Shameless DanGPT Cher UK baseball card

Cher UK is a sometimes KC band with a revolving cast that released records and toured in the 90’s, when I was out west reading a lot. They are on the GBV, Young Fresh Fellows, Replacements spectrum, with more blunt force. It was fall-apart good.

Mike McCoy is the one constant of Cher UK, and has many projects—the record I knew before I saw Cher UK was Mike McCoy’s Trompe Loeil. I've listened to this record many times.

I enjoyed a productive Bandcamp Friday, grabbing these listenables:

Latinum - Into The Flux

Tex Perkins and The Fat Rubber Band - Other World

Kim Salmon and The Surrealists - Ya Gotta Let Me Do My Thing

Empire - Expensive Sound

Flin Flon - Dixie (Version)

Milly Nilsson - The Travels
