9.4.25 - BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR INK CARTRIDGES

Dear habanero seeders, jalapeno mincers, and poblano patriots,

I vow to get my next round of ink cartridges from The Pen Place in Crown Center. This week, I ordered a 5-pack on Amazon. If basic background checks were in place, I don’t know that ink cartridges would be available to outliers like me. I believe in common sense gun control; free and fair elections managed on a consistent, verified platform; vaccines; alternative energy and free light rail transportation. And if we don’t have music in schools, we’ve already flushed ourselves halfway down.

I took another GLW [good long walk] and listened to Tex Perkins and the Fat Rubber Band, and the first few songs on Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore’s Texicali. Those two on the same records is kind of a Maris and Mantle situation. No, Mays and Mantle. When I wrote earlier that I have a hard time with Americana, I meant that I am particular. And isn’t that true within any genre for most of us?

I bought Texicali for my brother Neal the summer he was first falling ill, and listened to it on the way home from his farm the day after he died.
