Dear hex nut herkers, bolt breakers, and washer tossers,
A long walk tonight, listening to Tex Perkins and The Fat Rubber Band. I finished The Open Road by Jean Giono, and got my man Pablo walked around the block. He’s in full olfactory mode for the first half of walks these days and then picks up speed as we head slightly downhill on Virginia, by Fountain City Guitar Works. As an elder dog, his sniffer is probably his sharpest sense, so we linger at every section of every chain link fence. Teddy the yorkie on the corner usually has a lot to say, too.
I started fixating on the number of steps I’d need per day, to break my record for steps in a month. I let that line of thought go and re-focused on enjoying the walk at hand, or foot.
I also listened to a Southern Lord sampler today, and Heels In The Aisle by Gray/Smith. Good job Rob, as always.
I have replenished the teal town Squids shirts inventory—all unisex sizes ready to adorn your perfectly imperfect torso. Spare tires, apple bellies, six packs, aggressive chubbies, one-armed wizards—whatever. You can buy them here.
Keep walkin’ that dog,
DJ
