Dear sweat hogs, chicken dogs, and old testament budget hawks,
October third and I am writing from our back deck in the sun at 8:45 AM. T-shirt weather, still.
Yesterday’s Bandcamp Friday haul included:
Molly Nielsson - Amateur
East River Pipe - Shining Hours In A Can
Yasmine Hamdan - I Remember I Forget
Molchat Doma - Etazhi
Bitchin’ Bajas - Bajascillators
There is a song on Amateur called “The Bitter End” that I have listened to about a dozen times in less than 24 hours. East River Pipe’s “Make A Deal With The City” is on heavy rotation too.
Squids played with a KC band called Moaning Lisa last night, a 90’s rock project led by David George—really good. Rich Wheeler joined us on tenor sax with effects, and it was a blast. I placed jam segments in the set list with SST-inspired names like “The Broasting Concept.”

I had a golf event for work beforehand, so all in all it was a really fun day. I had few mis-hits and worm burners, and found the confidence to swing through my high iron shots, getting actual loft and hitting the green a few times. I parked a par 3 drive on the green, too. Enough good shots to avoid the frustration that can sometimes set in with a round of golf.
